Cosine Systems Issues Beta Release of Windows CE 4.2 Driver for SL811HST

The SL811HST from Cypress Semiconductor is a rugged low cost USB Host Controller chip that is popular in embedded devices but has previously been difficult to use in embedded systems running Windows CE.NET This is primarily because it has simplified internal logic and is not UHCI compliant. Most existing drivers written for this chip have omitted Isochronous transfer mode.

Cosine Systems has created a new driver from scratch that works smoothly with Windows CE 4.2’s new tighter restrictions that are incompatible with most Host Controller drivers originally written for Windows CE 2.1. We also successfully implemented the Isochronous transfer mode including a software work-around for the SL811HST’s small 240 byte buffer limitation.
